BSCP was founded in 1960 and has steadily grown until it now occupies a well established position amongst the civil/structural consulting practices of the North of England, and is one of the largest independent practices in the region. Its offices are situated in the university city and commercial centre of Leeds. Over the years, the practice has undertaken a variety of important central and local government projects as well as significant institutional and private commercial/industrial developments.
The practice specialises in all aspects of civil and structural engineering designs and construction, having wide experience in all conventional and restorative forms of construction including reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, load bearing masonry and specialised foundation designs. The company undertakes medium scale civil engineering works, including roads, railways, harbour works, water supply and treatment, sewerage treatment works, ground investigations, land survey, contamination assessment and treatment, and feasibility reporting. Project management and design team co-ordination services for turnkey, refurbishment and other integrated service projects are also undertaken when required. BSCP has been involved in several city centre re-developments involving demolitions, retained facades, piling works and complicated temporary works.
Over the last few years the practice has expanded its sphere of operations to include a number of overseas projects, notably in the Middle East, China, Asia, Hong Kong, Israel, Africa and the Caribbean. However, the directors have maintained their original close links with both the local business and government communities alike, thus maintaining a realistic balance between international and domestic scales of operation and service between major and minor works. Most importantly, the practice can offer a wide and diverse range of skills each with a depth of experience to suit all circumstances.
An in-house computer installation provides full analysis, design and draughting facilities. Software development and marketing also form an integral part of the Company's activities being closely linked to quality control. Both email and ADSL links are available for the rapid and accurate transfer of data.
The practice is committed to producing the highest standards of professional engineering and operate a quality organisation conforming to the requirements of ISO 9001.
